Office Cleaning – Unlock Productivity
You might be surprised, but studies have shown that office cleaning can lead to greater productivity in not only yourself, but your entire workforce. A clean environment stimulates the brain and focuses ideas. This is from an esoteric perspective (though it has been shown to be true). From a practical perspective, a clean environment is an organized one. You can get more work done when you have to spend less time looking for the tools you need. Granted, if it has been a while since the last big clean it can look like an overwhelming job. It doesn’t have to be, however.
The first step in any good office cleaning job is to get rid of anything you don’t need. Even the least pack-ratty of people have a tendency to keep more junk around than is really necessary. Take this opportunity to look through everything and throw away those things that are just taking up space. Shred junk mail, toss away those inbox documents that have been there since the beginning of last year, and clear out your desk of random bric-a-brac that is contributing to a junky appearance.
Next, shut off your computer and other electronic appliances and get out the cleaning supplies. There are some good wipes and sprays designed specifically for computer monitors, towers, copiers and the like. Use these in lieu of substitutes to avoid the possibility of causing damage. Wipe these things down and marvel at the amount of dirt and grime that can build up over time. You may not be able to believe how bright your computer monitor is after you’ve removed all the dust. From this day forward, make a vow that you won’t let it get to that point again. Aside from contributing to a dingy look, dirt and dust are the enemy of a functioning computer.
Finally, get organized. It’s easy to let chaos reign, but a well organized office will bring you and your coworkers to a new level of productivity. Create a system that will work for you and start building it from the ground up. This shouldn’t take long and once it’s in place it will be a cinch to keep it up. Prioritize your duties and you’ll find yourself feeling far less overwhelmed by your tasks in the future.
Office cleaning isn’t anyone’s idea of a good time, but it’s important for a number of reasons. If you don’t feel up to the task, consider hiring someone or contracting a service to come in and keep your workplace clean and tidy.…
