Barclaycard – Board Leadership Development

We designed and implemented a way of working that fitted in with the day to day working of this Board. The work was a mixture of open process facilitation, group coaching, one to one coaching and organisational diagnosis/development. This involved working with the Board and their key direct reports to help them to get clear about their business challenge, analyse their leadership skills and potential in order to develop their team and individual capability to address the key challenges more effectively. This was an action learning process working in a dynamic way by using their day jobs and offsite meetings as a way of generating real data to work ensuring a commercial focus so that the Board could link their development with tangible business benefits.

This resulted in the group being more effective at getting their plans implemented, there was a marked improvement in communications and as a result staff morale improved. Each board member was able to be more accountable for their individual performance and to commit to the collective leadership agenda of the whole group.
